When someone asks AI about what you sell, who does it point them to?
AI agents are recommending stores right now. AgentChannel audits how yours shows up in Shopify’s AI agent catalog, whether resellers outrank you, where the facts are wrong, and which Shopify fields to fix.
- not shown
The brand is not in the answer at all. Zero of the four picks. A first-time shopper never hears of them. Problem.
- displaced
The “best modular” slot, the brand’s whole reason to exist, goes to a competitor.
- sent away
Shoppers are routed to three rival brands and a big-box reseller instead.
- guessed
The facts come from a gear blog, not the brand’s own store.
- the truth
They make exactly this: a modular, weatherproof commuter pack in that price band. They should be the answer. Correct.
The catch
When you ask, the AI already knows you.
Ask about your own store and the AI flatters you; it has seen your site and your history. We ran the search above both ways: signed in, the brand appeared. Asked cold, it vanished and a competitor took its slot. We ask as the stranger, because that is who is shopping.
What’s live today
Discover the gaps, fix them, keep them fixed.
The free audit reads the 6 things an AI agent reads about a store, shows you which Shopify field fixes each gap, and lets you re-run any time to see if it stuck. One-click auto-fix is coming with the paid plan.
Discover: are you on the shelf?
Whether AI finds your products, or points shoppers to a reseller or a competitor.
Discover: are they getting it right?
Wrong price, wrong variants, missing facts, across your catalog and storefront.
Fix: what do you change?
Each gap maps to one Shopify field. The free audit shows you which. One-click auto-fix is coming with the paid plan.
Monitor: does it stay fixed?
AI answers drift as models update. The free public audit runs on your storefront, no install. Install the free app to read your full catalog from the inside, the metafields and variants a crawl can’t see, and watch it over time.
What the AI says
“Their pack, Forge-30 TechTex PFAS Free 20L 30L Expansion, runs about $325. Heavy, over-engineered for most commuters.”
- The name is a string of raw tags, not what a shopper would type. Problem.
- The price is a guess, pulled from a reseller listing.
- “Over-engineered” is the opposite of the thing they sell.
The truth
One clearly named bag, at the real price, built around the modular system that is the whole point.
- Every gap maps to a Shopify field they already control. Correct.
- Title, price, and description: fix them once.
- AgentChannel shows which fields, and re-checks them.
The whole picture, honestly staged
The operational layer above your AI channel.
Shopify runs the transaction. We oversee everything around it, and we never blur what is live versus what is coming.
- Live
See how you appear in Shopify’s AI agent catalog, and fix it
Shelf presence, reseller displacement, and wrong facts, with the Shopify field to change and a re-run any time. Free, no install.
- Coming
Know how agent-driven orders pay
Payment mix by channel, once orders connect on the paid plan. Labeled honestly, never present-tense before it ships.
- Coming
Attribute orders to the agent that drove them
Exact on AI sales channels, best-effort on referrals, once orders connect. No per-order agent identity exists yet, so we will not overstate it.
- Roadmap
Defend agent-driven orders and disputes
Agent-aware disputes, returns, and trust. Lights up when the platforms expose agent identity. We will not sell it before it is real.
A preview of the paid depth that lights up once orders connect: how agent-referred shoppers pay, split by channel. Not in the free audit.
How this is different
Most tools either ignore this or hype it.
vs Shopify’s free page
- Lists you and shows a few basic metrics.
- Never tells you when AI sends your shoppers to a reseller.
- We show how you appear in Shopify’s AI agent catalog, where it sends shoppers, and what to fix.
vs the “20% in two weeks” crowd
- Promises numbers nobody can guarantee in a channel this new.
- Hides what is actually real behind the pitch.
- We show you the truth and label what is live versus coming.

Questions
Straight answers.
How is this different from Shopify's free Agentic Storefronts page?
Shopify gets you listed and shows a few basic metrics. It does not tell you how you show up in its AI agent catalog, whether it is sending shoppers to resellers and competitors instead of you, or where it is getting your facts wrong. AgentChannel shows you that, then points you at the exact Shopify fields to fix.
Which AI does it check today?
Today the audit reads Shopify's AI agent catalog, the shelf that feeds Shopify's agentic shopping surfaces, plus the facts on your own storefront. Direct reads of ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and Perplexity are coming next. We are honest about this: we report what we can see today and label what is on the way.
What is in the free audit?
A read of how your store shows up in Shopify's AI agent catalog: whether you appear when an agent searches your brand, whether resellers outrank you, and where the facts are wrong. It runs on your public storefront, no install and no email required to see your top findings. It covers the 6 things an AI agent actually reads about a store.
Does AgentChannel touch my checkout or payments?
No. AgentChannel is an oversight layer above the transaction — it never intermediates your cart or checkout, and Shopify and your payment processor run the transaction exactly as they do today. The free no-install audit reads only your public storefront and catalog. Once you install the app, it also reads your order data to rank your products by recent sales — but never your customers' personal details (no names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses) and never your payment card data. Order-to-agent attribution and deeper payment-mix-by-channel insight are rolling out with the paid plan; we label them coming, not live.
Can it tell me which AI tools are driving my orders?
The installed app reads your order data today (it ranks your catalog by recent sales), and order-to-agent attribution is rolling out with the paid plan: exact on AI sales channels, best-effort on referrals, and we label which is which. The platforms still expose no per-order agent identity, so we won't overstate it. (The free no-install audit runs on your public storefront only and does not read orders.)
How do agent-driven orders pay?
This is on the way as a paid feature. The plan is to read the payment details on each order (card brand, issuer, wallet such as Shop Pay or Apple Pay) and break them down by the channel the order came from. We label it coming, not live.
What about disputes, returns, and agent trust signals?
That is the roadmap, and we label it that way. Today the platforms expose no per-order agent identity, trust tier, or mandate evidence on the order, so we do not pretend to. The moment that field appears, the operations and trust layer (agent-aware dispute defense and returns) lights up. Until then we sell what is live, not what is coming.
